About EcoReefs

EcoReefs, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Dr. Michael D. Moore, Ph.D.

Michael Moore has studied the biology and geology of coral reefs since 1982. He has a doctoral degree in Integrative Biology from University of California, Berkeley, and undergraduate degrees in Biology and Earth Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He has worked as a research scientist at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and as a lecturer at the University of California, San Diego.

An avid diver, he has done fieldwork on coral reefs in Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Pulau, Guam, Micronesia, Nauru, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tarawa, Funafuti, Western Samoa, Palmyra, French Polynesia, Galapagos, Costa Rica, Barbados, Grenadines, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cabo Verde Islands, Senegal, and the Red Sea.

Dr. Haley has conducted research on fisheries management and the ecology of artificial reefs in the Caribbean. He recently served as Director, Discovery Bay Marine Laboratory, Jamaica.
