Where coral reefs have been disturbed by dredging, pipelines, cable laying, or ship groundings, EcoReefs can help. EcoReefs modules are fast and easy to deploy with minimal logistical overhead -- our components are prefabricated and flat-packed in standard 40' shipping containers, and in-stock material can be expedited to the nearest ocean port with minimal lead time.
Our proven, scientific approach to coral reef restoration makes EcoReefs an ideal method for repairing reef damage and restoring reef habitats. EcoReefs can provide rapid assessment of damaged areas, determine suitable restoration methods, and perform restoration work as well as post-restoration monitoring. We coordinate closely with salvors, underwriters and regulatory agencies to deliver an acceptable, cost-effective solution that meets environmental mitigation and/or compensatory restoration requirements. |
Marine Habitat Enhancement

EcoReefs installations are well-suited for Marine Protected Areas, especially for sites where live coral cover has been completely destroyed by blast fishing or other destructive uses. EcoReefs installations can cost-effectively restore large physically-damaged areas that have shown no natural recovery in recent decades. Some of our most established installations (since 2003) are sites in marine parks that were large expanses of loose coral rubble produced by chronic blast fishing. This is an extremely hostile environment for young corals, since they are easily rolled and killed by tidal currents. EcoReefs installations have successfully stabilized these sites and catalyzed new coral reef growth from both coral recruits and coral transplants. |

Our solutions can be tailored to meet specific needs, such as improving water quality, establishing marine recreation areas, and stocking fish, corals, seagrass and other organisms in barren nearshore areas. EcoReefs marine ecological enhancements utilize eco-safe materials to establish attractive, functional marine ecosystems which can be installed over large areas to help stabilize sediments, improve water clarity, and increase overall property values. We employ a science-based, consultative approach and act as a trusted advisor to all parties.
