Bunaken National Park - Manado Tua Rehabilitation Project

In December 2004, 625 EcoReefs modules were installed on a demolished reef in front of the Negeri village church on Manado Tua in Bunaken National Park. More than 200 volunteers from Bualo and Negeri villages assembled the modules, and more than 50 volunteer divers representing 13 dive operators transported and installed the modules. This project was supported by a grant from Seacology, in exchange for the implementation of a large community-managed no-take zone. Additional assistance was provided by the staff of NRM III (EPIQ/USAID).
